Hi An Studio (“Hi An Studio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) creates and sells children’s activity and coloring books and offers services under Photostosketches. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our websites, shop with us, or use our services.
If you are a parent or guardian and your child is under 13, please see Children’s Privacy (COPPA) below for additional information. Leading U.S. publishers present a general policy plus a kids policy; we follow that model.
We may collect the following categories of information:
Identifiers & Contact Info: name, email, postal address, phone number, account credentials.
Commercial Data: purchase history, cart details, product preferences (including book themes and custom orders).
User Content for Customization: photos/images you upload, personalization notes, and artwork instructions needed to create custom books, portraits, and personalized products.
Device/Usage Data: IP address, device type, browser, pages viewed, referring URLs, and general location derived from IP; collected via cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.
Communications: messages to our support team and product reviews.
We may collect information when you:
subscribe to our services, newsletters, or make a purchase;
request marketing materials;
enter a competition, promotion, or survey;
comment on or share content;
contact customer service;
provide feedback; or
otherwise interact with our Site.
We use personal information to:
Provide Services & Fulfill Orders: process payments, ship products, deliver digital proofs, and manage custom projects.
Personalize & Improve: remember preferences, analyze site performance, develop new titles and features.
Communicate: send confirmations, updates about custom work, customer support, and—with your consent—marketing newsletters.
Security & Compliance: detect fraud, enforce terms, comply with law (including children’s privacy requirements).
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, measure performance, and (for adults) tailor communications. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.
We share information only as needed to run our business:
Service Providers: payment processors, shipping carriers, customer support, cloud storage, and analytics.
Custom Fulfillment Partners: trusted design/print partners for Photostosketches orders (only what’s necessary to complete your project).
Legal & Safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect rights and safety.
Business Transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not knowingly allow targeted advertising to children under 13 and we do not knowingly sell or share children’s personal information. This aligns with mainstream U.S. publisher policies.
Our books are for families and educators. Portions of our website may be of interest to children, but our online services are intended for adults (parents/guardians/educators) to purchase and manage orders. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe we may have collected a child’s personal information without parental consent, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Parental Choices & Controls: Parents may review, delete, or refuse further collection or use of their child’s information.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain uses of your personal information. We will verify and respond to requests within applicable timelines.
To exercise rights, email us at photostosketches@gmail.com. We will verify your request as required by law and respond within applicable timelines.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (together, “California Privacy Law”) provides additional rights:
Right to Know/Access: request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected about you, the sources, purposes, and categories of third parties we disclosed it to.
Right to Delete: request deletion of personal information (subject to lawful exceptions).
Right to Correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information.
Right to Opt Out of “Sale” or “Sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Right to Limit Use/Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information (if we collect it for non-exempt purposes).
Shine the Light (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.83): request certain information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing.
To exercise rights, email us at [info@hianstudio.com]. We will verify your request as required by law and respond within applicable timelines.
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including fulfilling orders, resolving disputes, and complying with legal obligations.
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we strive to maintain commercially reasonable protections, consistent with reputable publishers and e-commerce providers.
Our services are operated in the United States. If you access them from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries with different data-protection laws.
Our site may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies before providing personal information.
We may disclose information when we believe, in good faith, that disclosure is reasonably necessary to:
comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
enforce our terms and policies;
protect the safety, rights, or property of Hi An Studio, our users, or the public.
Publishers include similar “legal process / safety” language in their policies.
If we undergo a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We may update this Policy to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. If we make material changes, we will post those changes to this privacy statement and update the “Effective Date.”
